🪕 The Saint of Lost Causes: A Tribute to Justin Townes Earle 🪕

  • The Grotto Community Center 17 East Philadelphia Street York, PA, 17401 United States (map)

Songwriter. For many the word is synonymous with names like John Prine, Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, and Dolly Parton. The name Justin Townes Earle will be on that list in the future and for many, is already there.

JTE held a major role in the resurgence and emergence of Americana and roots music in the late 2000s. Starting with his phenomenal debut EP Yuma and across his eight other full length albums, Justin Townes Earle stamped his forever mark on songwriting history. With his Hank Williams silhouette, Elizabeth Cotton-style fingerpicking, and vintage suits, he demanded attention with just his stage presence alone. Yet, through his deeply troubled personal life he was able to write timeless songs over and over again. A triumph of a career in music and songwriting, cut down tragically short in 2020 of an accidental overdose.

His music continues to grow and inspire and bring people together. What better way to continue his legacy than a night of bringing folks together to share and perform his songs? Local musicians and songwriters will gather together for an intimate evening of performances of Earle’s songs. Lets go “Wanderin” together for the night.

Doors open at 6:30 pm, show begins at 7 pm. Snacks and drinks available for purchase during the event.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 day of and at the door if any remain.
